Microfiltration in two stage sand bed

There are many types of sand filters on the market today being used in industrial and urban wastewater treatment and drinking water purification processes. In this system, the water passes through a closed unit with two filters with different size sand. This gives a flow similar to that of microfiltration but with the economic advantage of requiring less investment and maintenance. A plant of this type is currently in operation in Guía Galdar (Canary Islands) with excellent results.
