A2O Process

In sensitive areas there is a real danger that eutrophication could compromise water quality. To prevent this, the A2/O process, for which DRACE medioambiente holds the marketing rights, reduces the nutrients using biological means (phosphorous and nitrogen) in the wastewater to be treated without adding reagents. The drawing below shows the layout of the process in the anaerobic, anoxic and oxic units where specific organisms develop in each selector to biologically eliminate the BOD5, phosphorous and nitrogen.
