DRACE medioambiente has developed various solutions to improve the quality of the work stations and the safety of the workers participating in the separating process at municipal waste transfer centers. Until now, little attention has been given to these factors.

An example, for the first time a center has been built foreseeing human and vehicles traffic moving on different levels as a measure to prevent accidents. Instead of using standard units, the platforms, belt conveyors and small hoppers have been designed specifically taking into account the worker’s posture and the ergonomics of the work stations. Furthermore, we have successfully built a timed film collector that significantly improves the comfort of the worker in the cabin. Previously, the air suctioning system worked continuously making it impossible to have any type of air conditioning.
