DRACE medioambiente has designed numerous plants with the A2O process, a US patent for which we have the rights in Europe and South America. This process is adapted to each project depending on the pollutants carried by the input water and the effluent quality requirements.

Years ago, DRACE medioambiente realized the advantages offered by a process that eliminated nutrients biologically at a time when the plants were built in Spain were not required to reduce the nitrogen or phosphorous content. Nevertheless, as a result of the efficiency of this system in comparison with other designs, it has been used in the most important plants such as the one located in Baix Llobregat. With an average treated wastewater flow of 4,000 m3/day, it is the second in hydraulic capacity in Spain and the first in which nutrients are eliminated without adding reagents.
